Day Four: "Car Karma - Crutches Suck!"

Dear Folks,

Apologies in the delay of this post everyone! It was so sad to leave everyone on the Insult to Injury set that we couldn't bear the thought of posting about it.

Okay, that may be an excuse. But it truly was sad and is hard to write about. More than anything the cast and crew, who worked so diligently to make Insult to Injury come together became more than a team, they became a family. Trust us - we have photographic evidence.

But first, a little about Day 4. Day 4 took some creative thinking to re-imagine a car crash on a sound stage. The camera and grip/electric team, though, effectively rigged an awesome dolly with camera and attached lighting to mimic a car approaching. And it looked pretty good! Plus, we were delighted with the presence of a new actress, Erica Green, who plays Prudence in the series.

Oh, and Maura Knowles (Mac) had a "potty party" in the bathroom, where she sang the episode's song "Crutches Suck." Indeed they do, indeed they do.

Now onto the family photos!

Shooting Day Three: "Car Karma - Crutches Suck!"

Hello folks,

Wrapped on day three for Insult to Injury season one. Despite the laughs on set, a sense of gloom pervades the cast and crew as we begin to close on Insult to Injury for the holidays (just one more day to go). In fact it was an emotional day overall on set. Edna, the Guardian Angel (Jennifer Shelton) broke down in celestial court; Maggie (Carol Kline) could hardly handle to stress caring for Mac -

Oh yeah - and we reset actor Maura Knowles's toes on set.

Just kidding!

The bone resetting was in the script. Not in real life. Well - actually - it was in real life. Insult to Injury is based off Maura Knowles's real life struggle - a near death experience that changed her life forever. In the case of Insult to Injury, it also made Knowles's guardian angel wish she were guarding someone else - perhaps one with a guardianship insurance policy? Maura Knowles's story is a beautiful, inspirational one and you can hear more about it on The Food Heals Podcast #126.

Shooting Day Two: "The Dancing Man - Skeleton in Closet"

Hello folks,

Another successful day on set shooting the Insult to Injury webseries. Today we started at a Magical Moonbeam themed 1980s prom and ended up...at a hospital? But before you start questioning our safety protocols, let us tell you that the hospital was all part of the plan. Our innovative team has been able to transform a small space into multiple locations including a prom, an alter-world closet, and a hospital room.

It just goes to show that creativity and imagination can take you a long way, even when confined to a seemingly small space.
